The Let’s Get Ready books were designed by one mom who had a vision to make a difference in the education of young children. Stacey Kanneberg has taken her vision and produced books that any parent can use to help ensure their child succeeds in these foundational years of formal education.

Each book lists pre-kindergarten or first grade skills, and then introduces the reader to a fictional teacher and fellow students, the Cedar Valley Kids. The books in the Let’s Get Ready series are colorful and sturdy with wipe-off pages which allow children to practice skills like writing their name. The books are about 40 pages and cover all of the foundation academic areas such as letters, counting, shapes, basic science topics like the five senses, and more that are appropriate for children in kindergarten and first grade.

Although these books were written primarily for students entering school, homeschool moms will appreciate having an affordable, easy-to-use book to refer to as they progress through the school year. You could easily build off of the information in these books and have a gentle, yet thorough approach to kindergarten and first grade.
