From Dark to Dawn - A Tale of Martin Luther and the Reformation
Author: Elizabeth Charles, edited and revised by James and Stacy MacDonald
Publisher: Books On the Path
For more information or to order: www.booksonthepath.com
My pastor recently said that "A book isn't worth reading unless it keeps you up at night - challenging how you live your life." If what he says is true, and I believe it is, then From Dark to Dawn is definitely worth reading. From the beautifully illustrated cover, to the enthralling story filling over 360 pages, From Dark to Dawn immediately took me in and held me captive as I experienced a wonderful (and at times horrible) period in church history.

Author: Philip Steinbacher
Publisher: Dandy Lion Publications

When you look at the title above, you may ask yourself the question, "What is a Quizzler?" At least that's the question I asked when I first saw this series in the Dandy Lion Publications catalog.
Dandy Lion Publications specializes in books to help students advance in logic and critical thinking skills. Quotation Quizzlers combine puzzle solving with the presentation of ideas by exploring quotes from famous people. Perfect for sharpening problem solving skills, these unique puzzles strengthen the student's ability to see both the small parts of each puzzle and the way all the parts fit together to form a solution.

Publisher: Motherboard Books

Computers…love'em or hate'em, they're here to stay! In fact, we will be doing our students a disservice if we do not equip them with the tools they need to excel in an increasingly "digital" world. Whether you consider yourself an expert or novice, it can be challenging to come up with a way to systematically teach these important skills. When I heard there was a curriculum for teaching computer skills, I immediately contacted the author for a review copy. My son, age 12 was the perfect "test" candidate :-) Computer Science Pure and Simple for Homeschoolers provides a strong foundation in three important areas of computing: basic office applications, computer programming, and website design. From the very first lesson, we found this program to be well organized and easy-to-understand.

Ann Lahrson-Fisher, mom of two grown homeschooled children, has discovered some of the secrets of homeschooing success and she has graciously decided to share them with the rest of us! Her book, Fundamentals of Homeschooling - Notes on Successful Family Living, is filled with practical advice, research, techniques and encouragement from a mom who has "been there, done that" AND enjoyed it. In her over 20 years of research and experience, the author has found that "homeschooling success builds on this simple foundation: living a satisfying learning lifestyle." Yep, that's it - the secret is out! Although it is a huge responsibility, homeschooling is really all about what comes naturally - living, loving and interacting with our children on a daily basis.
